In honor of Mardi Gras we made masks while we waited for David to get home from work this evening. He had stopped to get some key ingredients for the pancake recipe we were making for dinner tonight, so I figured that making Mardi Gras masks would help us pass the time while we waited for him to get home. Even though Grace was feeling crummy, she rallied enough to get off the couch, where she had been for a good few hours, and joined in the fun.
Next year I must remember to buy feathers for them to glue on their masks.
That would make this project even more festive,
although these masks are pretty adorable in their own right.
We always have pancakes for dinner on Fat Tuesday.
As soon as I saw the recipe for these pancakes on the Pioneer Woman's Facebook page
I knew that we had to make them tonight, and I am so incredibly glad that we did!
The Maple Sugar Glaze makes them even more delectable than they already are.
If you make these pancakes you must make the maple sugar glaze.
Trust me, you'll be so glad you did!
It was a sweet ending to our day.
As always, we'll see you tomorrow.
