We had another lovely Unplugged Sunday today.  We spent lots of time doing things around the house, running errands, playing, and planning a celebration that is to take place in a little over a year from now, but most of all we just enjoyed being together!  It was a simple day full of family time and love, and it was a great way to reconnect before the week begins.  Tonight, before we tucked the girls in we decided to teach them how to play Uno (one of my most favorite games).  We formed two teams so that we could each help the girls learn the rules of the game. It was a total blast!  Emma is a ruthless Uno player and I have a feeling it won't be long before the girls no longer require our guidance when playing!  What a great way to end a lovely day!

Tonight, right before dinner, Grace noticed that there was a pepper in our garden that was ready to be harvested. "Can I pick it, Mama?!" she asked.  Clippers were quickly found and we all headed down to the garden to witness the first harvest of the season!

Our Unplugged Sunday started with a request that Daddy paint their nails.  When you're a daddy of all daughters that's how you roll.

After everyone's toes were painted (mine included!) we got ready and went to a lovely brunch at Old Sturbridge Village with Dave's side of the family before they headed back to New Jersey. They were up for the annual July Birthday Celebration which I will post about tomorrow. If you have never had the Sunday Brunch at OSV, make a reservation now.  You'll be glad you did!
After we said our good-bye's we headed home to get ready for the next part of our Sunday.  Next up:a visit with our dear friend Kristin who we do not see nearly enough.  The girls. however, decided that naps were in order and immediately fell asleep in the car (and some of us continued it at home too).
Five chicks hangin' out!
This is one of those friendships that no matter how much time passes we just pick up right where we left off!  Oh, how we wish we lived closer to Kristin!  Such a dear, dear friend she is!  Our visit with Kristin was the perfect ending to a perfect weekend!  Thanks everyone for making this weekend so much fun!

Our Unplugged Sunday started with a trip to Tower Hill Botanic Garden for the First Annual Family Picnic.  It was a gorgeous day, a little on the warm side, but a perfect day nonetheless.
We all agreed that this was one of the neatest fairy houses there!
Our finished fairy house!
It was such a great way to spend the first part of our Sunday!  The Tower Hill Family Picnic was fantastic, and we hope that they do it again.  We said our good-bye's to my parents (who we'll see again next weekend when we all gather for the annual July birthday celebration) and headed on our way to home to grab our swimsuits, beach toys and some drinks to meet up with our family of friends at Hopkinton State Park. Swimming and a cook-out with friends was the perfect way to end a fabulous day!  Pictures to come tomorrow.

We have been participating in Unplugged Sunday these last few weeks and really loving it! Our evenings have been acoustic for awhile now, and it has been lovely to devote all of Sunday to living that way too! The last couple of Sundays have had us traveling to Connecticut to meet up with my parents for various reasons (last week it was to pick up my fabulous new camera, this week it was to pick up the absolutely gorgeous birthday ring that my Dad made for us to use in our birthday celebrations)!  Today, we met in Bushnell Park to ride the carousel and enjoy this completely gorgeous day!
