We had another lovely Unplugged Sunday today.  We spent lots of time doing things around the house, running errands, playing, and planning a celebration that is to take place in a little over a year from now, but most of all we just enjoyed being together!  It was a simple day full of family time and love, and it was a great way to reconnect before the week begins.  Tonight, before we tucked the girls in we decided to teach them how to play Uno (one of my most favorite games).  We formed two teams so that we could each help the girls learn the rules of the game. It was a total blast!  Emma is a ruthless Uno player and I have a feeling it won't be long before the girls no longer require our guidance when playing!  What a great way to end a lovely day!

A First

For the first time today the girls got out a game and played without my help!  By the time I got in there they had placed a good few pieces on the moon. The object of the game is to place one of the pieces on the moon without knocking any off.  The pieces come in three sizes (small, medium and large) and you can choose any size as long as the color matches what you rolled on the dice.  It's a great first game for the girls to play on their own.  Simple, easy and confidence building!

Playtime

The girls have spent the last two days inventing games to play together.  I've been waiting for this day since Em was born, and it has finally arrived! It's fabulous!

They wanted baskets to go berry picking.
After all, that is what Sleeping Beauty does when she is in the woods before
she meets Prince Philip.

Take note of the "berries" Grace has collected.

This game went on for roughly 30 minutes.
They took turns sitting on this fabulous egg scarf and pulling each other.
It was terrific!

Then it was time to go shopping.

This is the game that started it all yesterday.
I was very intrigued to see it continue today as well.
They would climb to the top of the stairs and would then bounce balls down them.
They found this absolutely hysterical!  I tried desperately to photograph the balls bouncing down the stairs, but even with how quick the new camera is they just bounced way too fast to be photographed.

We hope that your day was full of fun and adventure.
We're excitedly waiting for the snowstorm to arrive!
Snuggle in for a good night sleep, dear friends.
We'll see you tomorrow.
