Emma loves to chat on the phone with my Mom.  Pretty much daily she climbs up on the little red table in our kitchen (located near our corded phone), picks the reciever up and asks to call her Gramma (who she calls "boppa").  Yesterday, before I was done chatting with mom I asked Em if she wanted to say "hi" to her Gramma.  Below are some photographs of their conversation.

Notice the yarn pieces on the floor.  She left her cutting to chat with Gramma.
I don't think it stretches any further, sweet girl.
"la la la la la"
This is pure Emma (and my favorite of these pictures).
I am so thrilled that I was able to capture the fabulousness of their conversations this time! It is how all their conversations look and usually I don't think to photograph them but am so glad I did!  This child was indeed put on this Earth to bring joy to all who have the chance to know her (and the same goes for her sweet sister). Truly she should have been named Emma Joy instead of Emma Faith.  It would have been a very fitting middle name for this particular little!

On Friday Grace asked if we could take Gramma to the American Girl Store.  She had been wanting to take Gramma there since the first time we went and so it was decided that we would head over there for dessert after we had a small lunch.

And it was after this picture was taken that my camera died.  We spent a couple hours poking around the AG store.  It was longer than we had poked around before.  Lots of dreaming was happening, and I think it's safe to say that it was not just the little girls who were capitvated by the magic of this place.

We celebrated my Mom's birthday when she was up visiting during David and Grace's birthdays.  It seemed most appropriate to share these photos today, on her actual birthday!

We ended the celebration with birthday ice cream (Dairy Queen!) since we'd had so much cake in the days prior! It was a lovely evening to honor a fabulous woman!
Thanks for everything, Mom/Gramma!
We love you!
XOXO,
David, Shel, Grace and Emma

My mom came up last Thursday to be here for Grace's fairy party, and stayed with us until the following Sunday.  We had such a blast!  We celebrated Dave's birthday, Grace's birthday and Mom's birthday (which will be blogged about on her birthday) and we got to check out all the wonderful gifts Grace's was given by her friends.  We played in the pool and had general fun outside.  And of course, the only way it could get any better was to blow some bubbles!

Bubbles on a beautiful summer day.
Does it get any more wonderful?

I ended up hurting my back last week. I think it all centered around how often I had to separate the girls from the cat last week that I just aggravated something in my back. I thought that resting it would be enough, but sadly, that was not the case. It could mean only one thing, it was time to call in the reinforcements (read: my mom)!  She was thrilled to be able to come, and especially happy to get to meet Saraphina.

It was so great to have mom here to help with the girls so that I could recover.  I truly do not know how I would have gotten through those few days without her!  Thanks, Mom!  We love you!
