We headed over to the pond at the Wayside Inn to check out the ice harvesting demonstration that was going on today.  We had never been to one before so we were very curious to see what would be going on.

We got to meet Molly and Dolly.  They were there to pull the large blocks of ice out of the water.
We headed out onto the ice to get a closer look.
Our tummies were rumbling so unfortunately we headed home before we had a chance to see the horses pull the ice.  It was a great day for an ice harvest and lots of people were in attendance.  The girls really got into it!  Many people even commented on how attentive they were for ones so young (which made this mama very proud)!  It was really neat to see up close and personal how ice was harvested back in the days before refrigeration came on the scene. Hopefully they will hold this event again next year so we can get to see the horses in action!

Dave's parents stayed with us until mid-day Saturday.  We started our Friday off with a delicious breakfast at The Wayside Inn,

Followed by a trip to the Boston Children's Museum.
Grace got to see what it would be like to be on TV.
While Grace was practicing her hair dressing skills,
Em went shopping.
And of course, no trip to the BCM is complete without some bubble play!
We had such a blast at the museum!  Ice cream was requested so off to Cabot's we went.  We could not possibly pass up the chance to have a snack there what with it being on our way home and all.  It truly was the cherry on top of the sundae of a most fabulous day!

We'll see you tomorrow, dear friends.

On Wednesday, the girls and I got all dressed up and headed to the Wayside Inn for the Doll and Teddy Bear Luncheon.  It was the second year that they have held this wonderful event, and we were thrilled to be able to be there again.

If our computer that had the pictures from last years luncheon was not dead at the moment, I would post some pictures of the day.  Sadly, much like Dave's car, that computer has gone to the great computer graveyard in the sky.

So, without further adieu, here are some pictures from this years Doll and Teddy Bear Luncheon.

With Froggy and Bear in hand we headed out for our destination.

Eating corn muffins is a laughing matter.

The girls had lovely fresh fruit as their first course.

Followed by the Wayside Inn's incredible macaroni and cheese.
We moms had a choice of either grilled chicken or salmon on our salads.
I went with the salmon.  It was just as amazing as the mac and cheese.

Our friends Jennifer and Abigail came along this year.

Grace was thrilled to see her dear friend Abby!

Grace was in heaven with the ice cream sundae bar.
"Can I have more marshmellows, Mama?"

Playing with the Little House in the Prairie paper dolls.

Planting sunflower seeds.

After we'd had our fill of food and fun, we headed outside to the English garden to explore and play.

"Tag!  You're it!"

What a fabulous day, full of good friends, good food and wonderful memories.
Have a wonderful day, friends.
