The Mall of America, also called the MOA and Megamall, is a shopping center located in Bloomington, Minnesota, a suburb of the Twin Cities, USA. It is located southeast of the intersection of Interstate 494 and Minnesota State Highway 77, north of the Minnesota River and is across the Interstate from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Opened in 1992, the center receives 40 million visitors a year. The Triple Five Group, owned by Canada Ghermezian family that owns and manages the Mall of America and the West Edmonton Mall.

United States is the largest mall in terms of retail space, but it is the second largest in terms of total area closed. The Mall of America is the second largest center in North America, after West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
