For all those who are not on Facebook and have not already heard, I am heartbroken to report that our beloved Saraphina Kiki has taken off. We were blessed to have such a fabulous cat join us for exactly one week. We very quickly fell in love with her and her departure has left a giant hole in our hearts. We hope to one day soon have a cat as lovely as Miss Saraphina Kiki. Although a cat quite as lovely might be rather hard to come by.

And no, unfortunately, I'm not pregnant.
The big news is that we have been adopted by a cat! Grace has been wishing and hoping her entire life (almost four years!) for a cat and one appeared on the other side of our fence Tuesday afternoon. She was very friendly and happy to come into our yard. We spent much time playing with her and getting to know her and then she went on her way, only to appear on our back deck later. We wondered as we headed out to Mary and Tom's for dinner if we would see her again later.
When we arrived home later that night, just for kicks I called "Here kitty kitty!" and sure enough she responded with a "meow" and then made her way over. We decided to let her spend the night inside, since clearly this was an indoor cat who had been outside all day. She's been with us ever since.
So,without further adieu I'd like to introduce you to Saraphina Kiki Tscherne!
Grace named her Saraphina and since she was the one who discovered her she had naming rights.
Kiki is Emma-speak for "Kitty".
