One of the wonderful gifts that Grace recieved for her birthday was a flower press (thanks to Sarah, Ben and their littles). All the girls in attendance at her birthday celebration wanted to see how it worked, so they gathered flowers, grass, clover, leaves and other bits of nature and we put it in the press. Two and a half weeks have passed since the bits of nature were first put in there so we decided to open it up and see what things looked like.

After they were done admiring how beautiful everything looked they decided they wanted to decorate the two wooden pieces of the flower press.  They headed to the table and got right to work.
The press looks so beautiful now that the girls have decorated it with the pressed flowers.  This is truly the gift that keeps on giving and will clearly be enjoyed for years to come!

Today we stopped by the library to participate in drop in craft day.  We had been to the library yesterday to return books and movies and get new books and movies and noticed that drop in craft day was scheduled for the next day, so back we went today!  I am so glad that we went back today.  The girls had such a blast, and as a result we were at the library way longer than we had planned to be.  The theme of the summer reading program is One World, Many Books and as such everything has revolved around maps, flags and different countries.  The girls have adored learning about the different countries and so today's drop in craft day was totally up their alley!

There would be even more pictures had my camera not died right after this picture was taken.  We had such a great time completeing each craft and learning a little more about which country it was from.  It truly was a great way to spend an afternoon!
