Our weekend started out with a lovely party for the girls friend Abby who turned four.  Grace and Abby have been the best of friends since they were 8 weeks old.  Now, if only Miss Em had not been so crabby, she and I could have stayed and enjoyed all the fun.  The poor little has not been her normal happy-go-lucky self lately. Not sure what is going on, but I do hope that whatever it is passes soon.

We were supposed to attend a second party after naptime for the girls' friends Faith and Hope, but due to Emma's crabby mood we decided to decline.  We were sad to miss out since the girls adore them and don't get to see them as much as they used to, but there was not way I could bring a crabby toddler to a party.  Grace and Faith have been friends since Sarah and I were pregnant with them (and due a day apart)!  So, since we were missing the party, and Dave was at the Red Sox game, we were in need of something yummy for dinner.  We headed out, got some dinner and then went to Berlin Farms for some ice cream and a visit to the animals.

Nothing says Sunday Morning like a family pillow fight!  Now, if only I had my camera near by to document this wonderful beginning to our day!  Dave then had to head in to work for a bit so we decided that breakfast out was in order, along with an adventure afterward for the girls and I.
It was an most perfectly beautiful Sunday and we were thrilled to discover that Drumlin Farm opened at 9:00am!

A little lunch time fun with food topped off our a fun filled, joy filled day.  And in case you were wondering, those are Shiro Plums that I pitted that they are putting on their fingers.

We hope that your weekend was full of wonder, fun and joy and lots of time spent with those you love the most!

Since we had not made waffles in what seemed like an eternity, we decided that there was no time like the present to break out the waffle maker and rectify that situation!

Homemade waffles: We'll take these over Eggo any day!
We hope you had a wonderful Sunday.
Sweet dreams, dear friends.
We'll see you tomorrow.

This past week Dave came home from work with a gingerbread house. The husband of one of the women that Dave works with is the lucky recipient of a gingerbread house from one of his patients every year.  This year since they already had one they decided to send this one our way!  It was really beautiful, and we spent the rest of the week enjoying the sight of it.  Last night, after some delicious creamy baked pumpkin risotto, we decided to open the box and try it out.  It tasted as good as it looks!

This morning, as we had breakfast we discussed what it was we wanted to do today.  Dave suggested that we take a drive and check out The Gingerbread Construction Company.  It sounded like a good idea to the girls and I, so we finished our breakfast, got ready and headed out on our adventure of the day.

We've arrived!

Sadly, there was no place to sit inside the bakery and eat our cookies and muffins.  Back into the car we went.  Don't they look thrilled?

Headed Home.

We wish you a magnificent rest of your Sunday. Enjoy the people around you, a cup of cocoa and a good cookie!
We'll see you tomorrow.

Every Sunday Morning, Dave and his sous chefs make pancakes for breakfast.  Since we have so many blueberries frozen from our wonderful blueberry picking adventure this past summer, they have been making blueberry pancakes the past few weeks.  There is just something about the combination of fresh blueberries and real maple syrup that really hits the spot!  Not only does it make for a deliciously filling meal, but it also provides a reminder of the fun that we had over the summer picking all these beautiful berries!

Some weeks we have chocolate chip pancakes, or banana chocolate chip pancakes, or sometimes they just leave them plain.  No matter what treats they include in the batter, they always come out perfect in the end.  Dave likes to think that it's due in part to his trusty spatula, circa 1970.

The flowers on the table are a welcome bit of spring during this crazy cold spell we are having here in New England.  They were a lovely surprise from Dave last week!

And this is the picture that confirmed what Grace had been telling us for days:  She was in desperate need of a haircut!  Dave being the hearty New Englander he is, decided that after breakfast they would suit up and head out to get her a haircut (complete with lollipop).  What a good Daddy he is!

We hope that your Sunday finds you tucked safely inside, with good food and lots of fun family time.
