One of the wonderful gifts that Grace recieved for her birthday was a flower press (thanks to Sarah, Ben and their littles). All the girls in attendance at her birthday celebration wanted to see how it worked, so they gathered flowers, grass, clover, leaves and other bits of nature and we put it in the press. Two and a half weeks have passed since the bits of nature were first put in there so we decided to open it up and see what things looked like.

Yesterday, the girls and I finally had a chance to start our garden preparations. Between all the wacky weather we have had this season and how busy life can get we had not had a chance, as either a trio or the whole family, to get into the garden space and prepare it for the new seedlings. With super hot weather predicted for today and tomorrow it was pretty much then or never. So, we gathered the needed supplies and headed out.

On Sunday, Grace and Emma were invited to Sweet William Farm for a friends birthday party. It was a beautiful day for just such a party, and the location could not have been more perfect! We had been to Sweet William Farm once last summer for one of their summer concerts, and it was nice to be back after such a long time away. We arrived, the girls were greeted by a very excited birthday girl and they went off to explore.
