Mantra

In this world where there is currently so much uncertainty, a message like this is like a healing balm and a good reminder of what is truly important. Of what truly matters.  It has completely and totally encompassed "what I know for sure", and has said everything that we totally believe in in a much more eloquent way than I ever could.  As soon as I saw this on my friend Kelly's Facebook page this afternoon, I knew that this was one of those pictures that I wanted to keep forever, but also one that I wanted to share with my friends and family (and blog readers).  While I have absolutely no idea who the original photographer or creator of this wonderful message is, it is one that I believe we can all benefit from reading (again and again) and keeping in mind.  It also speaks to why David and I live the way we do and why we have chosen to homeschool the girls (something that I will post about in greater detail next month).  It's about embracing life, finding your passion, learning from the world around you and most of all simply being happy.  Perhapse if everyone focused more on being happy than on anything else we could truly change the world.

Today was all about pretending.  There are so many wonderful pictures of our day that it was initially very hard to choose which ones to post tonight.  Since I kept coming back to this series of pictures of Emma and her washbasket it seemed only right that these be the chosen photos of our day.  I love the way the light photographed, and I love how she is blissfully unaware of the camera.

It was a simply lovely day.

Today, to kick off the weekend leading into Dave's vacation week, we headed to Old Sturbridge Village.  First up, a picture in a sleigh!

Followed by a visit with the sheep.
"Mama! It looks like our church!"
(This is exclaimed everytime we visit OSV)
Consulting the map for where to head next.
"My sheep!"
We even got to help with some farm chores.
Oh, and this one (below) was just too good to pass up posting!
In the words of The Fresh Beat Band (a fave here in our house):
"We had a great day!
 It was a super way,
to spend some time together.
We had a great day,
the very best day,
And nothing could be better!"
