We went to the Arnold Arboretum for Lilac Sunday today! It was the first time we had been to the Arboretum, and as soon as we walked through the gate Dave and I began to wonder why we had never been before. Add into the fact that I lived in Belmont and he lived in Brighton before we got married and it makes it even crazier to know that we lived so close to such a beautiful space and had never visited. It was truly a magical place and the perfect way to spend Mother's Day! Happy Mother's Day to all the mamas! I hope your day was full of ordinary miracles and sweet moments spent with those who bring you joy!

'Tis the gift to be simple,
'Tis the gift to be free,
'Tis the gift to come down where we ought to be,
And when we find ourselves in the place just right,
'Twill be in the valley of love and delight.
When true simplicity is gained,
To bow and to bend we shan't be ashamed,
To turn, turn will be our delight,
'Till by turning, turning we come round right.
We had a glorious (albeit cold) day visiting the Hancock Shaker Village today.
We had never been before and were thrilled to be able to go and have virtually the whole village to ourselves today.
It was a peaceful, serene, simple place. The kind of place you would expect from a peaceful people.
We hope each of had a wonderful Mother's Day, and that you were able to enjoy all the simple gifts in your lives.
