The weather on Valentine's Day was nothing short of incredible! After countless weeks of bitter cold temps and lots and lots of snow, the warm (almost 60 degrees!) weather was a welcome reprieve. We headed out to get some fresh air and explore the world that we had been shut in from for quite some time.
By the time we got back to the house the girls white tights had turned a lovely shade of grey from all the puddle jumping, and their hands were rather dirty from all the exploring! We peeled their clothes off of them, washed up and got into snuggly warm clothes while we waited for our friends to arrive for dinner. What a gift of a day! A true promise of things to come!

Last year we made these playdough hearts and we loved them so much that we decided to make them again this year. While it takes a longer chunk of time to finish this project (it takes at least two hours in the oven to harden them) they come out super cute in the end and are totally worth it!
I just love seeing these little hearts hanging on each of the shutters and in other little places around our house that need a little love. They are just too sweet. You just can't help but smile when you walk by. Next year I think I will be sure to find a branch to place in a vase on our nature table to make a Valentine tree out of so we can hang any extra hearts we have off of it. What a lovely reminder it would be that even in the middle of the cold, snowy winter that love can (and does) grow!
