We love CSA Tuesdays and we love that we got to share with day with Grandma today.  This is the first time that she has come to the farm with us, and the girls were very excited to have her join us today.   We decided to go sooner rather than later since the day promises to be another hot one and there are crazy storms predicted for later this afternoon.

Our U Pick today was cherry tomatoes!

It was another lovely day at the farm, and (as always) the perfect way to spend a morning.  We have had such a wonderful time having Dave's mom here and are sad that she will be heading home tomorrow.  As I type this, Emma is napping and Grace and Grandma are having some Grace and Grandma time, which means I get some quiet time of my own!  What a treat!

Enjoy the rest of your day, dear friends.
I know we will!

Last night much to the girls surprise, Grandma arrived!  She was so sweet to offer to come up early to help with the girls so that I could get the house ready for the baby celebration we are having for my dear friend Sarah whose second child is due later this month.

Before Grandma arrived we read some books.  Grace loved the rebus book we borrowed from the library.  She was thrilled she could read!

Shortly after we finished reading, Grandma arrived, with dinner in hand and a special treat for her beloved grand-daughters:
bubble wrap!

Is there anything more fun than jumping on bubble wrap?

"I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream..."

This morning we did some
playing

thinking

watching (Max & Ruby, of course)

and farming (on Facebook).

And more playing.

Aunt Mary and Grandma headed out with the girls and Mary's two hooligans, so that I could get the house ready for  tomorrows baby celebration.
They headed to Target, and to the mall for lunch and a ride (or two) on the carousel!

It was a wonderful day. The kids had fun, I got the house all ready for tomorrow and now we are all worn out.
Have a wonderful rest of the day, friends.
We'll see you tomorrow.

Some days just require playing in a tent.  Thankfully the girls have a grandma who is very talented in the tent making department!

Peek-A-Boo!

We hope your day was full of fun and laughter.
We'll see you tomorrow.

When you have an abundance of snow outside like we currently do, there is only one thing to make for snack time....snow cream!  Snow cream is like ice cream but much quicker and easier to make.  I got the idea from my friend Lori from Potter Six when she blogged about it last year, and decided to try it when we had our first good snowstorm of the year this year.  We loved it and have taken to making it with every good snowstorm that we have ever since.

Silly girls!

Into a large bowl add one cup of light cream.

A half cup of sugar.

One tablespoon of vanilla bean paste (or extract).

Mix.

Mix some more.

Add 4-6 cups of fresh, clean snow.
We used four cups today.

Carefully fold the snow into the mixture.  Don't over mix or it will turn to slush.

Serve.

Enjoy!

Snow Cream Recipe

1 cup light cream
1/2 cup sugar
1 Tablespoon Vanilla Bean paste (can use extract instead)

Into a large bowl combine cream, sugar, and vanilla.
Mix.
Fold in snow. Coat snow with the mixture, but be careful no to over-mix or it will turn to slush.
Serve immediately.  Enjoy!

Have a fabulous rest of the day, friends.
We'll see you tomorrow.
