Last night we decided was the perfect night to set up the tent and have our first backyard family camp out!  Of course, this was all decided as the sun was getting ready to set.  There is nothing quite like trying to set up a brand new as it's getting dark, but that just added to the fun of camping out in the backyard!  Thankfully the set up time (of twenty minutes) on the box was totally spot on. Otherwise we may have had to abandon our adventure for another night.

The next morning...
Camping was a hit!   Last night was truly the perfect night to be out camping in the backyard.  There is nothing like falling asleep to the sound of crickets snuggled next to those you love most.  It was total bliss.

*We are looking forward to taking this show on the road some day soon. Hopefully, next year we'll be able to join in the fun at Unschoolers Rock the Campground

I think its safe to say that I was born a James Taylor fan.  When you grow up in New England it seems to me that you are almost obligated to become one.   Such was the case with me.  My entire life I have wanted to see James Taylor in concert.  And my entire life I have wanted to see a concert at the institution that is Tanglewood.  On July 3rd both of those dreams finally came true!  And as an added bonus, we got to see Carole King too!
Dave and I decided recently that we should become a camping family.  We love nature and being outdoors and so do the girls.  It seems to be a natural fit for us.  And,. while we really have no camping experience we decided to give it a go in conjunction with the trip to Tanglewood.  We borrowed camping supplies from my friend Betsy, packed the car up, said good-bye and have fun to the girls and Gramma and took off.

If only I had the right camera setting for this picture.

Traffic like this can only mean one thing.
We must be getting close!

We loved that we could bring a picnic complete with wine!

View from our seats before the show.

While we had incredible seats the picture on the jumbo-tron was pretty incredible too!

Last song of the night.
They played for three hours and gave us two encores.
Fabulous!

On our way back to the campground.
It was everything I hoped for and more.  I am looking forward to many more wonderful (James Taylor) concerts at Tanglewood for many more years to come.  If you live in New England and you have never been you must go. It's an incredible venue!  Truly something that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime!
